How Embody Zen was Born
When I first stepped onto a yoga mat, I was seeking physical strength, flexibility, and resilience. As a science teacher for 19 years, I loved understanding the body’s mechanics and the research behind movement.
At first, I viewed yoga through an analytical lens—focused on structure, outcomes, and measurable progress.
But as I immersed myself deeper into the true spirit of yoga, my understanding shifted. I realised I had unknowingly placed society’s ideals of achievement onto a practice that was never meant to be about performance.
Yoga isn’t about striving.
It’s about softening.
It's about breathing, being, and belonging—to yourself and to life.
Today, Embody Zen is my offering to the world: a space where adults—teachers, parents, leaders—can heal, reconnect, and show up differently for the next generation.
Healing starts with us.
When adults reclaim their peace, children naturally follow.

I'm Simone — founder of Zen Schools, longtime high school science teacher, yoga and meditation guide, neurochange coach, and mum to two amazing adult sons.
I've lived the journey from burnout to balance, from striving to surrender.
Now, I’m passionate about helping others find their way back to themselves — with compassion, courage, and a little bit of playful curiosity.
Whether you're an educator, parent, or simply someone craving a deeper sense of calm, my approach makes it easy to feel calm, clear and energised again - without adding more stress to your plate.
